Humanitarian Relief Update: Critical Medicines Airlift for Lebanon
Canada for Lebanon is pleased to announce a major humanitarian partnership with Health Partners International Canada (HPIC) to deliver urgently needed medicines to Lebanon's healthcare system.
Through its network of Canadian pharmaceutical partners, HPIC has secured and prepared 65 pallets of essential medicines valued at approximately CAD $3.3 million. These medicines have been identified based on the needs of Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health and are intended to support vulnerable communities and healthcare facilities across the country.
A charter airlift is currently being arranged to transport the shipment to Lebanon. Upon arrival, the medicines will be cleared through customs with the support of humanitarian partners and transferred to the Ministry of Public Health for distribution throughout Lebanon's network of hospitals and clinics.
5,000 Family Emergency Kits Secured for people of Lebanon
As part of this response, Canada for Lebanon has already secured 5,000 Family Emergency Kits in partnership with GlobalMedic. These kits provide a comprehensive, household-level solution for families in crisis, including water purification systems capable of delivering safe drinking water for up to one year, along with essential hygiene supplies.
This intervention is critical in mitigating the risk of waterborne diseases and supporting basic health and dignity in displaced and underserved communities.
